The water I drank was poisoned.
The tree I called home was cut.
What was my fault?
The selfish human destroyed my home.
One day while I was flying, my wings got stuck in the cable wires.
One day while I was eating, a plastic bottle cap stuck in my throat.
One day while I was drinking water, a layer of harmful chemicals choked me to death.
I prayed every day to nature to do something for us.
One day, nature heard me. It threw the plastic blanket from us to humans.
It sent corona to tell humans their sins.
.
When CoronaVirus hit us, we first thought it would go quickly as other viruses, but less we knew, it had come as a pandemic that would stay for many years killing many people. Leo Tolstoy once said, “One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between man and nature shall not be broken.”
Today, when the temperature is rising insanely high and global warming is at its peak, every human must think about our mother nature. Climate change has always been the talk of the town, but no one wants to cut down the luxuries that come with it. The industrial revolution and technological advancement have ensured a high economy for mankind, but climate and nature both are compromised every day. If climate change continues at this speed, the millions of species that cohabitate with us are going to be impacted. It’s not only tigers, penguins, or sea turtles, but everything including us.
Nature has given us many chances and still, we haven’t changed our behavior. If we don’t do it now, our future is in danger. Today, environmental protection is critical. We must consider both our own needs and the needs of future generations. For the past two decades, the world has recognized that it is living beyond its means and that our way of life is putting the planet to the test. We are depleting natural resources and putting environmental systems at risk (water, soil, and air). It cannot continue indefinitely, especially as the global population grows. Many issues need to be addressed before we go for solutions. UNFCCC holds a conference every year where the climate goals are sworn and worked upon. It is a bit helpful, but most people still are unsure about the climate and global warming.
However, there are a few changes that we can do at our home to make the best contribution to nature.
The expansion of buildings is a great sign of development, but have you ever thought about the amount of fly ash released in the process of making the building?
This fly ash pollutes the air and causes a lot of health problems like bronchitis, asthma, and even lung cancer. However, fly ash is banned in many countries now.
When you take a flight, you are increasing CO2 emissions, but if you take a train, you might solve this problem. Cars account for 10% of CO2 emissions in the EU. Why not take advantage of public transportation? Cycling or walking is a much healthier and less expensive alternative.
After charging the battery, do not unplug the phone charger. If you do this, you will waste 95% of your energy – only 5% is required to charge your phone.
Shower instead of bathing to conserve hot water. The shower consumes four times less water.
We need the energy to consume and if we save even a little energy, it can cause a lot of difference. You just have to be aware of the surroundings.
Many conferences have taken place in the past. All focusing on global warming and climate change. The only thing that you have to remember is it is we who are getting affected and if we don’t do anything today, our future generations will suffer for no reason of their own.
